At home with the Holy Spirit

Conversation fragment between Dr Walter L. Wilson, a Christian physician of Kansas City and a missionary visitor in 1913, when Dr Wilson confessed his personal ignorance of God the Holy Spirit. The missionary visitor said: “It is because of this that your life is so FRUITLESS, even though your efforts are so great. Seek to know the Holy Spirit personally and He will transform your life.”
That remark haunted Wilson and on Jan 14th 1914 everything changed.
Another friend, Dr James Gray preached in a sermon on Romans ch12 v 1,
“Have you noticed that this verse does not tell us to whom we should give our bodies?
Not the Lord Jesus- He has His own body.
Not God the Father He remains enthroned. Another has come to earth without a body.
You have the honour of presenting your body to God the Holy Spirit to be his body on earth”
Wilson prayed to the Holy Spirit; ” My Lord I have treated you like a servant, but no more. Now I give to this body of mine, my hands limbs my eyes and lips, my brain, all that I am I hand over to you. Help yourself to it, take it to Africa or lay it down with cancer. Help yourself to it. I believe you have accepted it.” No wonder He was able to say, ” Jan 14th 1914 was the great transformation…”
Now read Romans ch.12 v 1, and let Him be at home in your body

Thought 4 The Day

Our salvation depends not on our love for God but His love for us, not our commitment to him but his pledge to us,
not our hold on him but his grasp of us. (Anon)
