“It’s no use, I can’t go on any longer”.
Now that’s something that will have been said a million times today already.
“I’m at the end of my tether, I can’t take any more ‘It’s no use us going on like this, something will have to be done.”
And those are other things that will be said a million times today.
Wherever people get to the end of their patience, whenever they’ve turned over a new leaf they say, “Well, what’s the use, because the new leaf that I’ve turned over just gets covered over by a great pile of old leaves that drop on top of it.
I’ve tried all the solutions, they are too slick and easy, they always begin with ‘If only you would’, or something like that.”
Now today I haven’t got some kind of slick instant cure, all I can say to you is this, that Jesus never said that if you come to Him all your troubles will go away. What He did say was that He would be able to show you the right way of dealing with the situations that face you.
When people say, what’s the use. He says there’s plenty of use. He begins to speak about the kind of love that can be rekindled in people’s lives.
God doesn’t lose patience with me when I go wrong over and over again, He gives me the strength to get up and try again.
Have you read the parable of the Prodigal son lately, it’s in Luke Chapter 15, It’s not about a son or even two sons.
It’s about a father who had more patience than we ever dream of.
That’s the God you are dealing with.
